The Story of Heathen Brewers
From humble beginnings, Heathen Brewers are expanding but remain committed to producing the highest quality craft beers across a range of styles and tastes.
Our brewery on Triangle Road, Haywards Heath opened its doors in 2021. Alongside our commercial brewing operations, we run the Hop Sun Tap, our very own taproom and events space.
The brewery was fabricated for us by Rossendale Sheet Metal Co and installed on Triangle Road in late 2020. Our two 1800L fermenters are complimented by several smaller vessels to give us flexibility to experiment and always bring you the freshest beer
We've now added three horizontal tanks for direct bar service as well as increasing our lagering capabilities. And a barrel store is slowly growing in the front room of the Hop Sun Tap to balance things out.
Mark Balcombe has been Heathen Head Brewer with since 2020 after working with us since 2017. His bold experimentation and love of all things brewing has seen him pick up numerous Sussex Beer awards and accolades for Heathen Brewers.

As the brewery expanded into it new premises, Mark has continually innovated with small batch and an ever expanding repertoire of Specials sitting comfortably alongside the Heathen favourites.
